Originally, pets can give a birth of up to 4 puppies or kitten:
  • 15% chance of 1 offspring,
  • 35% chance of of 2 offspring,
  • 35% chance of of 3 offspring,
  • 15% chance of of 4 offspring.
This mod reduces the number of new-born pets and there are 2 versions of it:
  • 25-50-25-0:
    • 25% chance of 1 offspring,
    • 50% of 2,
    • 25% of 3,
    • no chance of 4.
  • 50-50-0-0:
    • 50% chance of 1 offspring,
    • 50% of 2,
    • no chance of 3,
    • no chance of 4.
Use only one version at a time.
If a pet got pregnant before you have installed this mod, that pregnancy won't be affected.
Update (20 Oct 2024): Made the tuning more user friendly.
Tuning
You can change the chances by editing the behavior constant of the selected file in SimPe.

The chance of 4 offspring is implied by the other chances. For example, if you set a 30% chance of 1 offspring, 40% of 2, and 20% of 3, then the chance of 4 offspring is 100% - 30% - 40% - 20% = 10%.

After you have modified the file, remember to change its name to avoid confusion in the future.
