It turns out that the City Living head wraps with baked in hair textures aren't the only hats to function like that. The durags that were introduced via an SDX drop also suffer from this design issue of having the hair texture as part of the hat swatch so I've taken it upon myself to update these as well to use the new system we have for newer headwear designed in this way. I've also "fixed" an issue with the female Toddler version. For some reason the Normal texture is applied in the wrong place. I can't get it to show in the correct area so I've made it blank instead.

These files override the CASP resources for all of the durags, as shown in the attached screenshots, and add additional hair colour overlays for the game to pair with them to accurately display the correct hair colours.
You don't need to do anything special to use them. Just place the file in your Mods folder and the next time you select the durag in CAS it will automatically apply the correct hair colour for you.
Thanks also to SimMandy and Aveira for their hair palette Photoshop actions which enabled me to create all of the correct tones.

Notes
The durags will be marked as CC with these files installed.
Hair textures are shared between all ages of the same gender.
If you remove the mod then the hair colour will revert back to the standard black.
I reported this as a bug on the official forums but it was moved to feedback as this is the way they were intentionally designed at the time of their creation. So don't hold your breath on EA ever updating them.
