Laurie ultimately decided it best to flag down Khumar, and to leave Candi's things at her place. As she headed towards the old Malestrom home, eager to avoid capture, she ran into someone she didn't expect!

Laurie: "Elle! What are you doing here?"

Elle: "Ciem rescued me! Candi's still out there somewhere, fending for herself!"



Laurie: "Holy schmuckfeldt! What happened to your face?"

Elle: "Ernie. I threatened to tell his wife!"

Laurie: "His wife? You're crazier than Candi!"

Elle: "Yeah, I know. That's why I intend to move as far from here as possible... I can't take much more of this insane place!"



Elle: "So...why are we here?"

Laurie: "Rumor has it that Khumar still lives in here somewhere."



Suddenly, a very-alert man in what looked to be very dirty clothing rushed out at them!

Khumar: "Hey you!!! Get out!!! Get out of here! NOW!!!"



Laurie: "Khumar! Relax! We're..."

Khumar: "You're spies! I know it! That worthless Arfaas has got everyone gone mad! You've come to take me, haven't you? Just like you did my wife! Are you gonna kill her, or me? Like you did my brother???"



Elle: "No!!! Listen to us!"

Khumar: "Or maybe you've come to drink the last of my stash of beer! My comfort before I die!"

Laurie: "SNAP TO YOUR SENSES, Khumar!!!"

The distraught man was suddenly speechless.

Laurie: "Elle and I are also wanted! We are ALL outlaws right now! Right now...Candi, your brother's ex-girlfriend and my best friend; is launching a scheme with Ciem to set your wife and sister-in-law free!!!"



Khumar was visibly shaken! His first encounter with anyone in two weeks, and he was unable to believe what he was hearing! His wife had to be dead!

How could he not be next? These girls couldn't be telling the truth!

Khumar: "I want proof!"



Elle: "Then keep me around!"

Khumar: "How is that proof???"

Laurie: "Elle, what are you talking about?"

Elle: "I have nothing left to lose! Ernie will undoubtedly get a warrant for me, now that I've beaten my way free of him!

Mr. Hamilton...do what you like with me, take me hostage if you wish! But let Laurie help you! She needs you to help us find shelter!"



Khumar: "I...could use some company...but I'd prefer my wife!"

Elle: "Then you're one notch better than Ernie!"

Laurie: "Elle, this is stupid talk!"

Khumar: "She's right! What do you have in mind?"



Laurie: "I've got it! Come out here, you two! I've got a plan!"



Laurie: "Khumar...does that car have gas?"

Khumar: "The insurance is long-expired!"

Laurie: "Big deal! We're running from the cops already!"

Elle: "I'll stay here."

Khumar: "This sounds like a trap!"

Elle: "Shut up!"

Laurie: "Guys! Girls! Enough! Okay, here's the idea: we will all drive to Candi's old church, and get Wilbur Brocklyn to meet us!"

Elle: "But..."

Laurie: "He's a good guy! I don't go to that church either, but Candi trusts him. I see no reason we can't."



Laurie: "In a church, we can get cleaned up. Here, we're all sitting ducks!"

Khumar: "But how will Lindsay find me?"

Laurie: "Uh...good one!"

Elle: "Hey! That's it!"

Laurie: "What?"

Elle: "Remember the first semester?"

Laurie: "Professor Ryan?"

Elle: "He'll be our lookout!"

Laurie: "He's on sabbatical, hun."

Elle: "Ah..but he hasn't left yet! He'll stand post here while the preacher stitches us back together. Andrew will help Lindsay and Candi find the rest of us!"

Khumar: "What about Dolly?"



Laurie: "Dolly? Well...let's just hope that we don't need Ciem to find her. I have a hunch she won't be as easy to handle as Lindsay!"



Lindsay: "KHUMAR!!!"



Khumar: "Lindsay?"

Laurie: "Incredible."

Elle: "Guess he doesn't need me after all!"

Laurie: "Elle!"



Khumar: "Lindsay!!! My angel!"

Lindsay: "None the worse yourself?"

Khumar: "I'm...so glad to have you back!"

Laurie: (sighing) "Why do I get all the crappy assignments?"
