The Sanmarcos family felt that it would be a fine day in June to venture into town. They were wrong! The police were back in business, with most of the Arfaas loyalists gone. But new trouble was brewing in town.

Officer: "Señor, Señora, I'm gonna have to ask you two to leave the premises! We have an emergency!"



Sapphire King: "That's right, Emeraldon! I'm back too! I'd've thought that the Meethltes could do a better job!"



Emeraldon: "You're despicable, Saph! Don't you know I'm trying to retire? I've been at this game far too long!"



Sapphire King: "Code language! You're losing your nerve! You know you can't retire! Even if you stop me this time...there will be other threats to the city! You know it! One by one! One by one, they'll wear you down! And I'll come out on top!"



Sapphire King: "I know about your cancer...DONTE!!! See how everyone else has already fled? They don't even guard their own vehicles anymore! I can make this quick and easy, and save you the trouble of a painful death!"

Emeraldon: "Cute, Jordan! But you forget something!"

Sapphire King: "Yes?"



Emeraldon: "First...they're all right beneath us, ready to strike the minute I disable your firepower!"

Sapphire King: "The same old, same old! What else???"

Emeraldon: "I'm…not the city's only protector anymore!"



Sapphire King: "What??? No!!!..."

His look of certainty turned to gloom! He knew that while Emeraldon could easily disable his firepower temporarily; he still lacked the physical strength with his back pain to take down the horrific Sapphire King!

But Sapphire King never imagined his old foe would have a sidekick capable of snapping spines with a crushing embrace!



Just one building away from him stood Ciem, a pest he knew he hadn't prepared for! Having Zeran-teleported to the scene from a few buildings away, she was ready for action, and Saph knew that one way or another...this new centipede would be his undoing...and the undoing of many a pest in Dirbine for years to come.
