5 Tile Garage Door

One of the things I love doing the most in The Sims 3 is recreating houses, but sometimes things end up just a bit "off". The garage doors occupying four full tiles and extending slightly over the edge has always been an aesthetic issue for me - generally you need to leave one tile on each side, which can throw off proportions and feel like a waste of space, and it also makes it very tough to recreate TS2 builds, where garage doors are equally wide but centered on five tiles instead.

So I fixed it.



I simply took the basegame garage door and shifted it one half tile, along with shifting all the information for routing, lighting, and most difficultly, the wallmasks. Feel free to use it as a basis for converting your own garage doors to five tiles!



The end result is quite neat, and it functions just as you'd expect, fully working animation. It has the same polycount and two recolourable channels as the original door, and can be found next to it in Build/Doors for ยง600.
