..... Welcome back to "The Life of Brandy Broke" Part 3 ....
-- -- Previously -- --
Dustin had agreed to sneak out with Angela, his on again - off again,
trouble - making girlfriend. Angela
pulled up in her dad's brand new sports car. She had just stolen it to
go out that night for a little joy ride with Dustin.
She revved the engine slightly to hear the low pitched roar of the
high octane engine in the quiet night.
"Well, are you coming or not?!" she hissed at him.
Dustin was all
ready to go with Angela in his mind, but in his heart, he also knew
that his mom was having a very hard time, she was so stressed out
lately and he knew that his going for this joy ride would really upset
her.
And his mom would find out about it; she always did. 'Special Mom Magic,' he guessed.
"Come on Stupid!" Angela screeched at him. "Lets go!
..................."No," .....................
Dustin said in a clear, calm voice, much to Angela's surprise.
"You go on without me," Dustin continued, "I have to go to work tomorrow;
my Mom needs my help" And ...
"Suit yourself," she sneered, as she cut him off. "I always thought you
were a loser and I always will!" Angela said hotly at him as she
pealed out, leaving Dusting standing alone in the dark.
Dustin felt like crap as she squealed away. He knew he just lost
his girlfriend for good.
He had a crush on Angela since the 3rd grade.
He thought back as he remembered the day that she actually took notice
of him, and gave him her phone number in the 7th grade.
Then he had a mental break through. He had really been getting into lots
of trouble since he started hanging out with Angela.
With that realization, he turned around without further regret.
Like the garbage behind him, so was his relationship with Angela.
Rubbish to be taken to the dump.It was over between them and he
was cool with that. He would clean up the garbage in a little while.
But right now he just had a strong urge to go and give his mom a big hug.
"Go back to sleep now Beau, it's after 1AM in the morning.
And Mommy wants to take a bath and get out of this tight dress,
it's maternity clothes for me, from here out kiddo," she told her toddler.
She then gave Beau a big kiss on the forehead.
"Maa maa, night night," said Beau as he lay down to go to sleep.
(Finally)
"Hey Mom?" Brandy heard Dustin call quietly from the doorway as she
tucked in Beau."Be right there, Sweety." said Brandy in a hushed voice.
And gently waved him out of the door. "K," Dustin whispered back and
went to wait in the living room for her.
Brandi came to the living room to find Dustin very upset.
"What is it Dustin?" she asked him with a small smile. "You know you
can tell me anything." "Mom, Angela and I just broke up for good," said Dustin
with a choke in his voice.
"Oh, Honey, I'm sorry to hear that." She comforted her son.
"Are you sure it's over over, I mean, didn't you two just have a
little fight?" "No Mom, she is gone for good." Dustin reassured her.
Brandi had overheard the whole conversation from the bedroom window.
This window just happened to be open, and has a very nice echo that
carries from the front yard quite clearly. She sat quietly in the dark
with Beau trying to get him to go to sleep when the interesting
conversation drifted through the window. She was very honored by her
son's mature decision.
"So, are you sure honey?" Brandy asked one more time.
"Yeah, I'm over her, were done," said Dusting with a sigh.
"Good," said Brandy, I never liked that little trrrram - ehem,
tart in the first place. 'Moms are sure great for taking
your side', thought Dustin as he hugged his mom and then said
good night.
This is Tasia, Brandi's new best friend. The two woman met at the
grocery store a few weeks ago and quickly became best buds.
A few weeks later.
She threw Brandi a surprise baby shower.
The party was a great success and the day was gorgeous.
Perfect for a outdoor party.
Brandi received everything she needed for the new baby on the way.
The food was great and there was plenty of it.
Brandi also met this guy.
Officer Sexy Pants! *drool* Thank you,
((( "HeatherG2004"))) the
master creator of this gorgeous hunk of sexiness. LOL! She can't be
with us due to the obviously planted by EA Games Error Code 5.
But we sure miss her and her wonderful talent, along with all the other
creators and story writers! Thanks again Heather, for your wonderful
work. Heather is also the real creator of that awsome outfit that Turok
wears. I forgot to post that part when I uploaded him; I was just so
excited to get to upload that I forgot to. I am sorry. Please forgive
me............ Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaassssee!! Begs for forgiveness....
Now on with the story.
"Ahhh, there's my girl," said Tasia as Brandi waddled into the room heavy
with child. Most of the guests had already gone home, and just a few
stragglers left.
"Wow Brandi, you are really sticking out there. You had better
come and sit down before you uhmmm..."
"Don't say Explode," begged Brandy. "That is the last thing
I want to do, is to explode," she said as she lowered herself down
onto the couch, with a sigh that only a very pregnant woman can
make. "Hey look, Jeopardy is on," said Tasia as she over-dramatized
the change of subject.
"Oh, I am so full," Tasia groaned "I think I ate almost half the bowl
of that delicious potato salad you brought over, Brandi.
I love potato salad! And you make it really, really well!"
Tasia bragged her up with complete and total honesty. She really does
love potato salad. Not the store bought kind though. That stuff is nasty,
especially the Wal-mart kind. *Blechhh!*
"Tasia, you really are a good friend. I had
no idea that you were
throwing me a surprise baby shower! Thank you so much."
Brandi said sincerely.
"I really did need that new crib. The one Beau is using is about worn
out. That crib first belonged to Dustin and he was tough on it."
"Awwww,"said Tasia. "I am so glad to help out. I think every new baby
should have a baby shower, if it is possible, and get some new
things just for them."
"You really didn't know about the party?" Tasia asked her.
"Nope, not a clue," confirmed Brandi.
"Ha ha," Tasia gently laughed, "I thought for sure Dustin would of given up the surprise, at least accidental.
"Since Dustin has broken up with his girlfriend Angela - she really
was a trouble maker, he has done a lot of changing over the last few
weeks," said Brandy. He is doing better in school, he is back on the
football team and he even got a raise by 50 cents at his part time job
at the junk yard."
"I feel guilty that he has had to grow up so fast, but I really
do need his help right now." Brandi said, with tears in her eyes.
"Brandi, I understand, but may I suggest that you think of it this way,"
Tasia said gently. "He is almost grown anyway and from what you have
told me, he has taken full advantage of "living wild," so to speak.
This is good for him; I think it's a blessing."
"That is true, and a good way to think about it," Brandi agreed.
"Thanks again for the baby shower, Tasia," said Brandi.
Then there was a strange silence between the two women.
"Brandi, are you ok?", asked Tasia. "You seem like you want to talk about
something. You know you can talk to me. I won't give out your
secrets, unless I need to make some quick cash then I will sell out to
the highest bidder," Tasia joked.
"Actually, yes, there is, but it - it - it - it ..."
"It's really weird Tasia, are you sure you want to know?" said Brandi
with great hesitation.
"Of course the weirder the better, I'm good with weird," replied Tasia,
teasing Brandi's fears of sounding bonkers.
"Ok, here goes. I have been seeing my missing but presumed dead
husband! There! I finally said it!" Brandi sighed with relief, at being able
to tell someone.
"That is weird. Are you guys like, dating again or something?"
"Tasia I'm not joking!" Brandi snapped a little at her, at the thought of being considered crazy.
"Ok, ok, so tell me what exactly is happening?" Tasia sobered and
asked her friend.
"I have seen him several times out of my kitchen window. You know the one that looks out over the front yard.
I
was standing there getting dinner ready, and when I looked up, there he
was standing on the sidewalk with a newspaper in his hands, I can see
through him, but he is there!" Brandi said frantically,.
"He walks
towards the house and then sits down in a ghost chair right under the
window and starts to read the paper. I think it is the Sunday paper.
And just as I try to get a closer look at what he is reading,
he disappears."
"Hmm.... that is strange, but I have heard of such things. I told you I
was good with weird. I would suggest the next time this happens, write
everything down immediately, go into great detail, and then we will go
from there."
"Ok, but this is really
FREAKING me out," sobbed Brandi.
