The Brandy Broke Story, Part 22
December 5, 2011

Welcome back.

Back at Pleasantville Memorial Hospital...

Tasia arrived around 10am to visit her friend Brandy. Tasia was a
late sleeper and this was actually early for her, considering she had
to get up at 8am to get ready and include travel time.
"Excuse me please," she said to the young nurses aid at the information
desk.
"Yes ma'am, how may I help you?" The young woman said rather shakily,
like she was worried about something terrible.
"I would like to know what room my friend Brandy Broke is in? She
should be in the Maternity ward."
The young woman checked quickly on her computer and said "Yes, your
friend is in room 103 . If you go out the the main corridor and turn
right you will see where the maternity ward is."
"Thank you," said Tasia.
Tasia turned away to go see her friend. "Ah hah!" she nearly said
out loud. She remembered why that young woman had looked so
familiar! That same young woman had been there the first time that
Tasia had brought Brandy here . She had been very upset looking that
time, too. Tasia also remembered that she had seen this young nurses
aid on the news, trying to avoid the many news reporters and photographers,
bombarding her with questions and pictures about the hushed up
and mysterious death of a Nurse at the hospital. This all
happened about a month ago. Tasia continued to chew on the woman's
identity in her mind. Tasia felt the hair raise on her arms and she
shivered *Brrrr* She walked through the doors the young nurses
aid pointed her to. "I really do hate hospitals," she mumbled
to herself and she shook off the sudden chill. 'I will be glad when Brandy
is out of here,' she thought.
She walked down the corridor to the right and soon spotted room 103.

"Knock, Knock?" said a friendly voice. Brandy and her guests all said
"Come in!" together.

"Hello!" said Tasia cheerfully, and entered the room.

Tasia greeted Brandy, Dustin, Coral and Herb with a hug, much
to Herb's delight.
"Where's the baby?" Tasia asked with mock worry.
"Nurse Gretchen took him to get weighed and checked out by
the Pediatrician. She should be back with him any minute."
"Oh, I see," Tasia nodded.
After a few minutes of cheerful small talk among the group about
the night before and how cute the baby is...

... another guest arrived.

It was Turock, Tasia's hunky boyfriend. He was madly in love with
her but she would never make the commitment to marry him.
That did not deter Turock in the slightest. He seemed to know that it
was only a matter of time and persistence to wear her down.. ((SMILE.))

This time it was Coral's turn to be delighted. "Good morning," Turock
said to the room, and shot Coral with one of his beautiful smiles
that turned most women to melted butter.

Wow , what nice friends you have Brandy." Coral observed Turok
with a smile, and hint of a blush.
Brandy smiled at her mother, knowing exactly whom Coral was talking
about.
"Yes, they are very nice," Brandy agreed.
Dustin just smiled, he was used to women fawning over Turok, he was
just one of those lucky guys that seem to have it all. But Turok was a
very down to earth guy, and he and Dustin were good friends.
Only Tasia seemed to have some immunity to his charm and good looks.
Dustin knew that Turok could have his pick of most other women.

But Turock only had eyes for Tasia.
He knew she was his soul mate. She just did not know it yet.

'But things were coming along nicely,' Turock thought, while taking in the scent of Tasia's hair during their hug.

"I'm glad you made it," Tasia told him.
"I would not miss coming to see Brandy and the new baby. Where is the
little guy ?" Turok asked.

As if on cue, Nurse Gretchen returned with the baby and Dr. Brooks in tow.
"I just wanted to let you know Brandy, that the Pediatrician has
examined your son and has said he is in good health. You both should
be able to go home in two days."
Coral and Herb thanked him again for taking such good care of their
daughter and grandson.

Nurse Gretchen returned Skip Jr. to his crib, and Dr. Brooks left
the room. Tasia observed Nurse Gretchen more closely.
Nurse Gretchen gave her a knowing smile.
"I hope you don't mind me asking you, but are you related to the
young woman at the information desk.?"
Nurse Gretchen laughed, "Yes, she is my little sister by two years. We
look a lot like each other."
"You could pass for identical twins," Tasia confessed.
"Yes," Nurse Gretchen smiled. "She is still in nursing school, but once
she takes the floor with me , I am sure we will cause quite a stir."

Skip Jr. lay in his crib with his eyes open for a few moments before
dozing off to sleep.

Turok and Tasia walked over to the crib and watched the tiny infant
fall fast asleep.
"Brandy, he is such a beautiful baby," Tasia complimented.
"Thank you, he looks just like his dad Skip." said Brandy.

"I know someone else who would make beautiful babies," Turok told
Tasia, in a sincere and gentle voice.

Tasia laughed out loud. "Me a mother?? Haa haa very funny. You must
have me confused with someone else."
"Yes, you would make a excellent mother as long as I was the babies'
father." said Turok with a gleam in his eyes.

"You and I have children together?" said Tasia, as if the idea never
crossed her mind.

"Well, we would have to get married first, of course, to give the
children a proper home," said Turok not letting her off the hook.

Then much to his surprise ...

A Big, Huge, Red, Heart appeared over Tasia's head.

Turok got a startled look on his face, followed by a funny look in his
eyes as he stared at his girlfriend.

"Tasia, did you just fall in love with me at long last?"
Tasia swooned, and sighed and said "Yes, I suppose I cannot
deny the Big, Red Heart floating over my head."

"Are you sure you really want someone like me?", Tasia asked Turock.

"When we get home, I will show you just how much I really, really
want you." Turok told her. The air around the two seemed to sizzled
and snap; this did not go unnoticed by the rest of the people in the
room, who all bore witness to the Big Red Floating Heart.

"Wow, that is a huge, floating heart! Did you two just
fall in love?" asked Nurse Maggie, as she entered the room.
