"Welcome to part 8 of the Brandy Broke Story."
"Previously"
Dustin and Brandy were getting ready to go to the address in the newspaper.

The Nanny arrived first, she was a quiet and kind hearted
woman, her lack of words never made you feel uncomfortable
or judged. She calmly cared for Beau and washed up the
breakfast dishes while Brandy and Dustin paced a hole in the
floor waiting for the cab to arrive.
Once the cab arrived Dustin and Brandy got a case of the nerves.
This was it! they were both thinking, they were at long
last going to get some answers to the disappearance of Skip Broke.
The ride in the cab downtown was made in a odd kind of silence
that did not seem to affect the smelly cab driver picking his
nose in the least.

Finally they arrived at the address.
"That will be $15.35." stated the
smelly cab driver.
Brandy paid the Cab driver and exited the cab with her son.
Both were glad for the fresh air.

Dustin and Brandy found themselves in front of a very
Tall Department Store. They had both been in it
many times, but never past the first floor.

Welcome back to part 9
http://grou.ps/includes/file.php?gr...ditor&id=356619
Brandy and Dustin stood outside the Department Store
and took a deep breath together, they faced a uncertain future.

Once inside, Dustin asked the closest cashier for directions
to the address indicated.
"Oh yeah, said the young man, sure its up on the 5th floor.
That is one old Post Office, I think it has been here since
the building was built over 150 yrs ago. I am surprised that
anyone still uses the place. Just go back towards the stairs and
take the elevator. The stairs don't go up that far."
"Thank you very much," said Dustin. Then he and his mother
started off in the direction that the cashier pointed to.

As soon as they approached the elevator, the doors slid open.
Brandy got in right away but Dustin hung back a little.
The reason was a very attractive blond haired young lady about
his age seemed to have a magnetic force about her, one that
attracted
Dustin in a very STRONG way.
He could feel his heart pounding nearly out of his chest while
he and the young woman locked eyes.
"Are you coming Dustin?" Brandy asked her son, the doors of
the elevator starting to slide closed.
"Ahhh, yeah mom," Dustin answered with a smile on his face
and turning a little red. Normally he would of taken the next elevator
up; in order to hang back to talk to the young lady, but he knew that
this was not the time to be hitting on girls. "No matter how gorgeous
she is!" He quickly joined his very pregnant mother on the elevator.
Much to Dustin's surprise and happiness, the young woman was also
going up in the elevator. He felt like such a hero as he thrust his hand
into the doors to stop them from shutting allowing the young lovely to get
onto the elevator.
Brandy looked at the young woman with a friendly smile.
"What floor?" Brandy asked her nicely.
"The 5th floor thank you," the young woman answered in a
soft voice as gently and pleasant and a summer breeze.

Dustin thought he heard music when she spoke. He could not
take his eyes off of her. He knew he was being rude, but he could
not help it. There was something so fantastic about this girl that it
blew him away. {He had it BAD.}

Brandy had a huge smile on her face and pushed the button
for the 5th floor. The doors of the elevator slid smoothly closed.
She could tell that her son was in LOVE.
"Oh good, Brandy said, we are going to the 5th floor also."
"Do you shop here often?" Brandy persisted in a friendly voice.
Brandy was normally a very friendly person and people in general
found her easy to talk to.
"No and yes, the young woman replied with a enchanting smile,
my uncle works on the 5th the floor, I help him with whatever he
needs me to do. He should be here soon."
"That's great it's nice to have a job and make your own money," Brandy
encouraged the small talk.
"Yes, but, I have found that I like to spend money also," she flashed
another brilliant smile. I am afraid my paycheck has not yet made
it out of this building."
The elevator gave its normal lurch and drop when it reached its
final floor. The soft "ding" of the elevator announced there arrival.
While the doors slowly slid open the young beauty looked at Dustin and said.
"My name is Anna, its been nice talking to you and your mother."
"I'm Dustin," he finally managed to say and held out his hand to shake hers
politely.
"And this is my mother Brandy," Dustin introduced her to his mother.
Anna's named burned into Dustin's brain with each heartbeat.
Anna stepped out of the elevator followed by his mother.
Dustin floated out.

Anna went to a nearby chair grabbed a magazine from a table,
sat down and began to read while she waited for her uncle to show up.

Dustin and his mother found themselves in a very large room,
actually a entire floor that had been divided off sort of into different
sections of use.
They found themselves looking at a small office area that had windows
overlooking the park. The office was had no walls but the boundaries
were clearly defined by the owners unique interests.
Two empty chairs seemed to beckon them and there was really
no other place to sit except for the place that Anna had sat down
to wait for her Uncle to arrive.

Dustin and Brandy sat down. Brandy being very pregnant
was happy for the place to sit down even though she had not
been on her feet for very long.
"Wow, This place is really neat," Dustin announced and
observed the place. The chairs had starting glowing a blue color
as soon as they sat in them.

"Neat but weird" Brandy agreed with her son and
looked at the glowing chair she was sitting in.
They both looked around the small interesting office while
they sat and waited in attempt to distract themselves from
the excitement of not knowing what to expect next. The curious
objects around the office did not disappoint.
They were in the right place at the right time, but no one was
there except for the young woman that rode up in the elevator
with them.
Dustin reassured his mother that Mr.Grinch had told them to
sit down and wait, some one would show up.
"What time is it?" Brandy asked Dustin.
"Its 1:22 pm we are well within the time frame, we should be fine,
I just hope someone shows up before 4pm.
"Yeah me too, the suspense is killing me." Brandy stated the obvious.

After about 20 minutes they heard the elevator coming up to
the 5th floor and finally the old shiny doors slowly slid open.
A older man with curly grey hair and glasses walked out.
He was well dressed and seemed a nice sort of fellow.

"Hello Uncle Max," said Anna looking up from the magazine
she had been reading.
The End of Part 9.
Thanks for reading.
