As she walked over to her dressing area Elinor reflected on her past, two days after her initial encounter in the house her mother passed away leaving her first the life insurance policy there and then an anonymous donator presented her bank account with a small and not insignificant fortune. The spirits of the house had kept their part of the bargain - she was rich. More than rich enough to renew the house and use it for her own purposes.
She had always wanted to run her own business and the idea of transforming the decaying old mansion into a guest house had appealed to her. Guests and staff members that would fill the place with life.
After receiving her fortune she had wanted to sever all ties with her past life, keeping only her first name she officially changed her surname to Wincham. checking in the church records for Sir Michel Calstone she had found the mention of his marriage to Miss Alessia Wincham and decided to take her saviours name in thanks.
Now here she was a wealthy young woman with her own business and ready for the future. true what she had done to get here was awful, and in fact she hadn't thought she would be able to go through with the sacrifice - an innocent life for her own? But it had been all so easy, a young woman like herself, alone here. It had been so very easy.
Sitting at her dressing table she knew she had three more sacrifices to make to appease the spirits and seal her end of the bargain forever. She already knew who her victims would be, only the first had to be innocent - the three remaining did not and in her eyes were not.
Sarah McLanders, Amy Simmons and Drew Ackerton.
The three people that had lead her to this point in her life, if they had never tried to trick her then she would never have been inside the house. Never trapped into such a bargain. They had all moved away but she would find them after all she had 6 years to find the first and 18 to find the last. She wanted Sarah to be the last. It was only fitting that she should be the one that sealed the final act of the bargain.
Brushing her hair at her dressing table Elinor smiled at her reflection, she was not evil, she was strong and it was up to her to protect her future. Tomorrow the hotel would open to its first guests and she had to be ready...
